Medieval Times A.K.A The very Old Olden Days

Last week was Medieval Week and it was really fun learning about sub topics and then doing an activity afterwards. So I will be talking about my activity I did with Dhyanesh, Lawrence and Josh.

My lesson went much better than expected because I thought everybody would mooch about doing nothing useful but they were very excited which blew my mind. Also I was surprised people understood what they were supposed to do because I still don't understand it very well.
Things that went well would be people selling there items for sensible prices and no one complained about stupid things that no one cares about.

Things that could of gone better would be NOTHING because it ran really smoothly and we all remembered our lines/info for the power point.

Other lessons I enjoyed was Williams groups lesson because it was a quiz and Dhyanesh and I won it while getting cheated on one of the questions.

Kapa Haka!!! :}

For the past three weeks we have been doing Kapa Haka, and I am one of the leaders for it with India, Avania and Jesse. This post I will be talking about participation in Kapa Haka, If I'm finding it easy, if anything is difficult and how I can improve things.

Participation is always high for me because since I am a leader I always have to be doing moves and speaking to people if they are finding something difficult to do.

Things I am finding easy would be showing to moves to the students but it is hard at times if I haven't really learnt them or if I get a bit nervous.

Don't come near me!!!
As I said things that I find hard are sometimes showing moves if I haven't learnt them or if I get nervous.

Some things I could improve on would be putting more effort into the moves so it looks like I am doing it in war and I am doing it with pride.

MINECRAFT + MEDIEVAL TIMES = A TONE OF LAG & 1 FRAME PER SECOND

Last week we started Minecraft at school because it is Medieval times and each class has to build their own Medieval village. So I will be talking about how I think it is going for my class and if we need to work on anything or improve some stuff.

Most of the buildings are correct and made out of the right materials but there are a few that need some changing. About 90% of cottages look like they are made out of wattle and daub.

My favourite part of the village has to be the Castle because it is so big and it also has great spots to attack from so we should wreck the other classes in war. Also I like the Church because it stands out and also because Lawrence and I made it.

As I said some cottages need a bit of work but we could also have some more shops and we could also build a wall.

Two things I am going to work will probably be the wall that will go around either the village or the castle. Also making buildings look better by filling them with things like decorations, etc. if it is needed I can help put stairs and paths and lay them out better.

Journalists are on point :)

For electives I have chosen Cadet Journalism which is run by Daniel Faitaua. It has been really fun so far. This is what I am talking about today.

The first few weeks have been really good and it has been really fun. There aren't many boys in it which is annoying but since there are only two boys in the group it makes a good group.

I have been learning a lot about what professional Journalists have to do and what they go through before going on TV. Also you have to be brave to talk to people you that might be complete strangers to you.

The most I have to do to get out of the Elective would be doing the activities the best I can do and do them properly.

Cross The Country!!! :)

Today the Year 4 to 8 students had cross country at Nairnville.  Each year group has two races one for boys and one for girls. The Year 4's run 1000 metres, year 5-6's run 1500 metres and 7-8's run 2000 metres.

I enjoyed it a bit because I am pleased with my self I came 6th but then the run is so hard. It was a good day though. I persevered through it because there were so many times I felt like walking but I kept running while keeping a steady pace. I saw others persevere because they kept going even if they were walking they would try to run every now and then and they finished. I saw lots of Empathy from people because they would be cheering for people and encouraging people. Showing Empathy helps the runners to keep going and to never stop.

Movie review

This weeks blog post is about a review on either a book you have read lately or a movie you have seen. I haven't done a blog post for a long time so lets see how it goes.

the movie i will be reviewing is probably the best film EVER!!!which is HUNT FOR THE WILDER-PEOPLE. I saw this on the first day of the holidays which was a while ago but it is so good I vividly remember it.

The plot is that a boy called Ricky Baker is trying to find a home because he was given to an orphanage when he was young. He is a trouble maker because he graffiti's buildings, spits at things and egg houses. But that all stops when he comes to a farm in central North island. An awful tragedy happens which forces Ricky to leave but he, Tupac his dog and Uncle Hec go into the bush and hide from the police while carrying simple items and old .303 rifles. According to Ricky they are and always will be Wilderpeople.

The rating I would give it would be an easy 5 STARS.I liked it because it has great adventure and the comedy is spot on, I just loved it.

Skillz!!!

I have learnt a lot over the past 3 weeks because we have had camp and other crazy things. So I am talking about 3 things I have learnt.

1. I have learnt some more skills on working with a team. Like letting people talk and encouraging them. Also have trust in others.

2. I improved with basic facts and have been getting a fast time and high percentage scores. Also I have got better with reading the equation better so I don't think a addition symbol is a multiplication symbol.

3. I improved with Statistics and at the start I got 40% in a test but 6 weeks later I got 100% correct.

Things I can try to remember these would be keep using them in every day life.
